Replying from an alias

Your real address stays hidden.

You can answer mail that reached you through an alias. The reply goes out from the alias, so the other side never sees your real address.

  1. Reply as usual. In your mail app, reply to a mail that came through an alias.
  2. Kuuko sends it from the alias. If your own address appears in the reply, in the text, the quoted mail or the subject, Kuuko replaces it with the alias. We tested this with Outlook on 25 October 2026.
  3. Add a name only where it fits. Each alias has an optional “Your name on replies”. Leave it empty and others see only the address.

Why a name is optional. A name makes you easier to recognise, and to track across services. Use one only where they know your name anyway, like a shop that delivers to you.

What it can’t do

  • Remove other details you write yourself, such as your name or phone number in a signature.
  • Change what your mail app adds to the reply, apart from your address.
